Because there’s no better way to spruce up a yard than with a giant dinosaur statue, purveyor of unusual home and garden decor Design Toscano is selling this 15.5′ tall Brachiosaurus statue (affiliate link). Sure, I could probably spruce up my yard by cutting the grass and weeding instead, but who’s going to notice all the crabgrass and dandelions when there’s a 15-foot dinosaur staring at them?
The statue measures 18′ long, 3.5′ long, and 15.5′ tall and weighs only 312 pounds. That’s great news because I do plan on moving it around in the yard so my neighbors think it’s alive. Unfortunately, there was no mention of how much weight it can support because if you think I’m not going to sit on this thing, you have another thing coming. Namely, me riding a brachiosaurus.
Sure, an actual brachiosaurus grew as tall as 50 feet and weighed as much as 50 tons, but think of this one as a juvenile. I mean, a life-size statue of an adult would probably cost so much that you’d be better off just cloning a real one. Which is exactly what I plan to do. Cue the Jurassic Park theme!
