Not going to lie. When I first lay eyes on the NITECORE EDC27, I gasped. I was like no way that NITECORE has gotten to making RAMs. Don’t laugh. Tell me this handsome little gadget does not remind you of high-performance RAMs. Obviously, it is not. The NITECORE EDC27 is an ultra-slim EDC flashlight.
I have seen enough flashlights in my life and seldom have I come across one in this form. Anyhoo, due to the unique flashlight form factor, the NITECORE EDC27 Ultra Slim EDC Flashlight is super pocketable. Not sure about the grip on it though.
In case you are wondering, it is just 14.2 mm (0.56 inches) thick and measures 135.6 mm (5.34 inches) long by 31.4 mm (1.24 inches) wide. Illumination is enabled by two Luminus SST40 LEDs paired with a total reflective optic lens.
All told, the dual LEDs puts out up to 3,000 lumens that offer up to 220 meters (722 feet) max beam distance.
The flashlight further boosts dual-stage tactical buttons for tactical applications. Two tail buttons at different heights offer easy identification and access to operations and brightness.
By half press and hold, you will trigger TurboReady which offers instant access to 3,000 lumens while a full press and hold enter Strobe Ready mode that activates a random, dizzying strobe light.
The flashlight is powered by a built-in 1,700 mAh lithium-ion battery that is good for up to 37 hours of operation in between charges. The battery is rechargeable via the built-in USB-C port that has a cover made from durable PC material.
It further touts a multi-layer construction featuring a carbon fiber-reinforced polymer frame and integrated heat dissipation surfaces, including external copper and aluminum heat dissipation system, before rounding up with a black PVD titanium-coated stainless steel body.
The aforementioned heat dissipation system is further bolstered by an integrated Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR) module.
An Advanced Power Cut-off (APC) technology is in place, enabling ultra-low standby current that provides up to 365-day ready. standby status.
Other notables include a highly efficient Constant Current Circuit (non-PWM) for constant brightness beam with no flashing, 5 levels of brightness, half and full lockout modes, IP54 rating for dust- and water resistance, impact resistance to 1 meter (3.3 feet), and a multi-function OLED display offers insight to the battery level, remaining runtime, brightness level, and current mode.
Each EDC27 comes with a removable stainless steel clip for clipping it in the pocket, backpack, webbing, et cetera.
We heard the NITECORE EDC27 Ultra Slim EDC Flashlight is coming soon for US$110. In the meantime, you may pick up more details over at its product page.
