Because who hasn’t dreamed of driving a giant shoe, New Balance has teamed up with Nissan to advertise its new 327 sneakers with the specially designed Nissan Kicks 327 Edition, an SUV all dressed up just like the shoe. That’s fun. Granted, it doesn’t really make me want either the shoe or the car, but it’s still fun.
The vehicle “is based on the Nissan Kicks e-Power 4WD SUV, powered by a 1.2L 3-cylinder gasoline engine, paired with a 349 volt AC Synchronous electric motor, generating a combined 134 hp and 206 lb-ft. of torque.” It appears to have all the trimmings of a shoe as well, complete with a wrap that looks like suede and rubber, as well as laces and a giant tongue. But can it touch its nose with that tongue?
The shoe car (think show car but a shoe instead) will be available for viewing at various locations in Ginza, Japan, at the Nissan Crossing exhibition over the next month, but I’m not sure if any will actually be available for sale. That’s a real shame for the person who saw this and realized it was the car of their dreams.
