Not going to lie. I am a skeptic when it comes to smart rings. But Oura Health Oy smashes my skepticism. Not only did it realize a ring form factor sleep monitor but it has progressed to become a capable health monitor with meditation monitoring. That was in 2019. Fast forward to 2022, Oura is back with the Oura Ring Generation 3.
With the Gen3, Oura Health Oy brings to the table, or rather, the finger, even more features. The all-new Oura Ring Generation 3 now features daytime heart rate, guided audio, videos, and more, and soon-to-be-available in 2022 functions including period prediction and cycle tracking for ladies, workhour heartrate, and insights, restorative time, and blood-oxygen (SpO2) sensing.
In spite of its wearable tech nature, this titanium wearable tech is lighter than a conventional ring and it actually has a battery life of 4-7 days. Moreover, the device is compatible with both Apple Health and Google Fit, and it is water-resistant up to 100 meters (over 328 feet).
Other notables include activity and fitness tracking, sleep monitoring, automatic nap, and activity detection, guided meditations, and more.
Oura Ring Generation 3 is available now, in a choice of finishes, with a starting price of US$299 plus Oura Membership which is free for the first 6 months and costs US$6.99 a month thereafter.
