It is official. The Shin Ultraman will be released on May 13, 2022. Celebrating this awesome news, Shonen Ric Japan has announced that Shin Ultraman will be joining its big monster series as a limited edition, fixed posed vinyl figure.
Standing at around 22 cm (about 8.7 inches), the Shonen Ric Limited Edition Big Monster Series Ultraman (Shin Ultraman) is based on the newly designed monster ass-kicking ginormous alien superhero as he will be seen in the new Urutoraman movie.
If you don’t already know, the new design is not quite new. It was actually based on the creator Tohl Narita’s original design which was based on the Bin Furuya aka Satoshi Furuya’s body and has no Color Timer nor peepholes.
Finally, the new giant superhero will sport a shortened fin on the superhero’s head. The original design has the fin extended all the way to the back but in the new design, the fin is restricted to just the head. We do not know the real reason behind this. It does look a lot streamlined and thus sleeker.
The fixed pose vinyl figure is made of PVC and it comes with a pedestal and support arm made of MBS. And yes, it will have light-up eyes, powered by a pair of LR44 batteries (not included).
If you are a super fan of Ultraman but cannot stand the obvious joints of a posable figure, then the Shonen Ric Limited Edition Big Monster Series Ultraman (Shin Ultraman) should be right up your alley.
Shonen Ric Japan is accepting pre-orders for the figure starting today through to January 17, 2022, at 1700 hours (Japan Time). Delivery is expected to commence in May 2022. The asking price is 14,300 yen, which works out to be around US$126.
