Anker, the company best known for making USB cables, power adapters/charging bricks, smart home security cameras, and more, now also makes 3D printers too. The AnkerMake M5 you see here is the brand’s first 3D printer launched through Kickstarter last April. It may have been a year since its launch but Anker is still aggressively pushing it into the market.
We saw the device some weeks ago. Back then, the website just introduces the printer but today, when we revisit the website for information to write about it, it is all about bundles. The top bundle is, believe it or not, buying a year’s supply of filament and getting the M5 for free. That will cost you a grand US$2,320, btw.
There are other bundles too, including a 6-month supply of filament and 50% off the M5 (US$1,559), M5 plus 16 kilograms (35 lbs) filament for US$1,103, and more. If you are cool with just black or white filament, there is the base bundle which includes an M5 3D printer and a couple of black or white filament that starts at US$737.
Key features include new PowerBoost 2.0 that cuts print time by 80% (up to 500 m/s) – without sacrificing print quality, precise 0.1 mm detail, remote control the print from multiple devices with AnkerMake Slicer and AnkerMake app, support AnkerMake V6 Color Engine to add colors to your prints, 235 x 235 x 250 mm square print volume, double cooling fan, auto leveling, built-in AI recognition camera, 8 GB eMMC, a 4.3-inch touchscreen, and support Amazon Alexa – just to name a few.
