There’s Going To Be BE@RBRICK Portable Bluetooth Speaker Powered By Rinaro

Medicom Toy’s BE@RBRICK is no stranger to serving as a canvas for artists and brands as part of many collaborations. However many collabs, BE@RBRICK remains only as a visual eye-candy aka a display piece. But this new collab with acoustic engineering company Rinaro Isodynamics, BE@RBRICK will finally go beyond visual to include audio because it is going to be a Bluetooth speaker.

The Medicom Toy x Rinaro BE@RBRICK Portable Bluetooth Speaker (officially, BE@RBRICK AUDIO 400%) is the result of over 20,000 hours of engineering time and 214 newly-designed parts. Audio reproduction is enabled through QUAD’360, an omnidirectional sound technology developed exclusively by Rinaro for this unusual shape speaker, featuring 4 custom-engineered acoustic drivers set inside the figure’s head.

Rinaro said these (the 4 drivers) “play in unison to generate a seamless 360-degree field of sound that punches far above the speaker’s size.”

BE@RBRICK AUDIO 400% being a Bluetooth speaker, means you can stream audio from any compatible Bluetooth-enabled sources, including your smartphone. It is not clear if it will get a companion to enable fine-tuning of the audio.

Not a lot is known about this upcoming portable Bluetooth speaker. However, we read that it will have a rechargeable battery good for up to 6 hours of use per charger and this battery has support for rapid charging that will take just 1.5 hours to fully charge via USB-C.

Also, apparently, the battery is replaceable. Not sure how that is going to work out. If that is really through, then be prepared for a non-seamless BE@RBRICK figure since a removable panel of sorts will be required to access the battery for replacement.

The Medicom Toy x Rinaro BE@RBRICK Portable Bluetooth Speaker is slated to drop this November in a choice of Clear, Smoke, and Black finishes, and for US$499. There is an official product page but Medicom and Rinaro have yet to post anything on it yet.
