PopSockets is cool and all but if you don’t fancy a button protruding out of your phone’s back, then GoBelt Smartphone Belt may be a good alternative. I know. I almost thought GoBelt is a smartphone accessory that lets you wear your smartphone on your belt like in the 90s. Thankfully, it is not. It works like PopSockets while remaining at its opposite spectrum as far as size goes.
The GoBelt is an ultra-thin phone grip that allows for one-hand use of your smartphone while minimizing accident drops. When not in use, it collapsed to a mere one millimeter and unfolds at a single flick. Because it is super flat, your device can still lay flat when set down on its back on a flat surface. Being super flat also means wireless charging is still possible, for iPhones with MagSafe. And it can also serve as a smartphone stand too.
Another boon of this nifty accessory is that it works with any phone size with or without a case. As long it has a smooth flat back, it will work. The only downside is, it uses adhesive to adhere to your device like PopSocket which not everyone will be a fan of. It is not recommended for use on leather or fabric case, though.
The GoBelt can be had now for just US$13 a pop from IPPINKA.com. You can also find it being sold as a 2-pack on Amazon.com for US$21.95 and on daistes.com for €9 ea. In case anyone’s wondering… GoBelt was a successfully funded Kickstarter campaign last September.
