Hammock is a wonderful invention but you gotta have trees to be able to enjoy cozying above the ground. This is where Tammock and Hammock Throne come in. But what if, just what if, you don’t want to be alone? Well, this is where Hive Hammock Stand by YOBOgear comes in.
The Hive Hammock Stand by YOBOgear is the world’s first portable two-person hammock stand that allows two hammocks to be strung side-by-side. Not going to lie. It is not the prettiest with all the necessary cables zipping across up above but those are how it gets its strength.
This hammock stand with a patented truss system is super useful not for hammocking everywhere anywhere without trees or any sort of anchor points but it is also tarp-friendly, allowing you to create a sheltered place to rest. Hive requires no staking, btw. This allows it to be easily relocated after setup. Though you probably want to stake it down if you are on a seriously windy plain. Just saying…
While huge enough to accommodate bridge hammocks and hammocks of sizes up to 14 feet (4.3 meters), it packs down to around 33 by 6 by 6 inches (84 x 15 x 15 cm), and thanks to its hard-anodized 7000 series aluminum construction, it actually weighs only 16 pounds. When set up, Hive has a 13.5 by 5 feet (4.1 x 1.5 meters) footprint and is 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall at the peak.
Hive has been on Kickstarter where it has raised over US$144,000. If you missed that, you can still secure a unit by pre-ordering it on Indiegogo InDemand for US$799. Go check it out.
