LG To Unveil New Minimalist-Design Appliance At CES 2023 Next Month

Most people don’t care if their home appliance like fridge or oven looks complicated or not. But if you do, then LG has good news for you. The Korean electronics giant will unveil new minimalist-design appliances at CES 2023 next month. TBH, I am not how minimalist white goods can get but from the lone image available, I guess these appliances do look a lot cleaner.

“LG Electronics (LG) is set to introduce a new line of minimalist-design appliances, including a washer and dryer, at CES 2023. Taking a ‘back to basics’ approach, the new range focuses on the essence of each appliance, removing all unnecessary design elements to deliver a timeless, minimalist aesthetic. The distinctive, durable products also reflect LG’s strong commitment to sustainability, featuring recycled materials inside and out and requiring fewer parts and less energy to make than conventional appliances.”

We are also not quite sure what is “unnecessary design elements” but we are loving the white refrigerator. On the other spectrum, LG is also offering custom look appliances by the way of colors. Not so much like Samsung, LG customization is for customers who prefer to spruce up their kitchens with colors. However, this option is only available for refrigerators only for now.

Anyhoo, in addition to a clean, simple design language, the minimalist-design appliances will also tout an elegantly clear control for ease of use. With its minimalist-design appliances, LG also tackles environmental impact:

“Aligned with LG’s goal to continuously reduce environmental impact across all areas of operations, the stylish, new products have been designed with sustainability in mind. By lowering the number of components and printed elements used, LG’s minimalist-design appliances take less time, use fewer resources and require less energy to manufacture. Each model in the new range also features internal and external parts – and ships in packaging – made from recyclable materials.”

This new range will include a refrigerator, washing machine, dryer, over range, and dishwasher. In addition to being minimal in design, this new range is also part of LG’s innovative upgradable appliance lineup which will allow users to add new features to the products via the Upgrade Center in the LG ThinQ app. I bet this is going to be as controversial as some of the subscription-based automobile features.

You can find LG’s booth, Booth #15501, at the Las Vegas Convention Center at CES 2003 from January 05-08, 2023.
