I am sure you have seen the Hokusai’s The Great Wave of Kanagawa several times in your life and I am sure you have seen it being turned into a LEGO sculpture. Now, you can own a piece of it, or rather 1,810 pieces of it with the LEGO Art Hokusai – The Great Wave (31208).
Perhaps one of the world’s most recognizable and influential Japanese artworks of all time, the original woodblock print of The Great Wave by Katsushika Hokusai has been turned into a LEGO element “painting”, complete with frame and all.
This latest made-for-Adulf Fans of LEGO (AFOLs) art series combines the best of the Dot and LEGO bricks to add a dimension to the legendary artwork. As with most – if not all – LEGO adult sets, you can scan the QR code and listen to the soundtrack with content tailor-made to enhance your time building.
The set features 6 canvas plates, 2 hanger elements, a brick separator, and a decorative tile with Hokusai’s signature. When completed, the set measures over 20.5 in. (52 cm) high and 15.5 in. (39 cm) wide.
What makes this set even more collectible for art buffs is that it comes with a premium booklet with details about his art, as well as instructions for the build.
The LEGO Art Hokusai – The Great Wave (31208) will sell for US$99.99 when it becomes available on January 01, 2023.
