There is certainly no shortage of Iron Man collectible figures in the market today but this new one from Hot Toys, the Iron Man Mark VII (Open Armor Version) 1/6 Collectible Figure, has to be the geekiest. The figure lets you recreate the one scene from Iron Man 3 where Tony Stark suffers an anxiety attack during a meeting with James Rhodes at a bar and hurried back to the Mark VII suit.
In this scene, the suit opens up for Stark to step in. It was just a few seconds long but man, it was super cool. Hot Toys has recreated the Mark VII suit in its open-up state and it looks absolutely brilliant.
Part of the Diorama Series, the 32.5 cm (12.8 inches) tall figure features the suit in its open state, revealing the intricate mechanical composition within – complete with an LED light-up function that makes the already super cool interior pops. LED light-up function can also be found on the arc reactor too.
Speaking of the LED light-up feature, this figure offers two display options: power the LED lighted feature through a USB cable when displayed individually or draw power from the diorama base when connected for an integrated setting.
The figure is the perfect companion to any collectible Mark VII suit but it’s OK if you do not have a regular 1/6th scale Mk. 7 suit because this little guy has articulated armor pieces at the back of the figure, allowing you to close up the suit for a close suit look. Like, how cool is that?
Finally, the figure is presented with metallic paint applications on armor with weathering effects on the exterior and contains diecast material.
The Hot Toys Iron Man 3 Iron Man Mark VII (Open Armor Version) 1/6th Scale Collectible will be released sometime in Q4 2023-Q1 2024. Meanwhile, eager fans can secure a copy from popular online retailers like Sideshow for about US$365.
