Between the last time, we featured the COTODAMA Lyric Speaker and now, the Japanese high-end speaker has had a few collab Lyric Speaker. Recently, it has another. This time, COTODAMA has partnered with Japanese photographer and director Mika Ninagawa for the Lyric Speaker Box Tokyo Feat. Mika Ninagawa.
In addition to the usual ability to display the song’s lyrics expressively on its 22” clear display, works of Ninagawa-san are also displayed, along with a chassis decorated with a color graphic. The unusual speaker measures 38 cm across, 12 cm deep, and 26 cm high (about 15 x 4.7 x 10.2 inches) and weighs in at 4.2 kilograms (9.3 pounds).
The COTODAMA Lyric Speaker Box Tokyo Feat. Mika Ninagawa is outfitted with one 3-inch woofer and a 0.75-inch tweeter. All told, it has a max output of 32 W with a frequency response of 60 Hz – 29 kHz.
Other notables include built-in dual-band wireless 802.11b/g/a/n/ac and support for multiple languages (including English, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and more). The device supports a variety of music apps and streaming services, including Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, AirPlay2, Spotify Connect, and it has Chromecast built into it.
The COTODAMA x Mika Ninagawa Lyric Speaker will be on sale starting August 26, 2022, for 275,000 yen (or about US$2,006).
