If you haven’t already heard, TOMY also has a crowdfunding campaign. The current campaign, which will end in an hour or so, is for a ginormous Star Trek USS Enterprise Die-cast Metal Replica that measures cool, shelf-space devouring 32.5 inches (82.6 cm) long.
The TOMY Prestige Select Star Trek USS Enterprise Die-cast Metal Replica is an authentic die-cast reproduction of the original 11-foot Enterprise NCC-1701 prop used in filming the original 1966 TV series.
It features motorized nacelles with lights, an articulated and lit hangar deck, an illuminated bridge, a glowing impulse drive, and over 250 meticulous details. For the super geeks, you’d be glad to know that the primary hull can be separated from the secondary hull and displayed on individual display stands.
The scale is 1/350, btw. And it is hefty too, tipping the scales at over 20 lbs (9 kilograms).
Unfortunately, this offer is only valid to the contiguous U.S. only. The asking price is US$599. Well, I guess fans with a tight budget and/or lives outside of the U.S. can only settle for the Playmobil version.
