Not going to lie. I think models of video game consoles, be it LEGO or plastic model kit, are weird as f@*k as they are cool. Weird because you did be paying a lot of money for a video game console that can’t play games. Cool because, well, it’s a LEGO Atari 2600.

That’s right folks. Another video game console from the 80s has joined LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System from 2020 – just in time for Atari’s 50th anniversary. But wait. Technically, the Atari is a 70s icon but you see, the LEGO Icons Atari 2600 (10306) set you see here is based on the four-switch revision which debuted in 1980.
This brick-built replicate of one of the most iconic consoles from the 80s features an accurate front panel with functioning switches and a front that slides open to reveal a pop-up scene from an 80s gaming room.

The 2,532-piece Adult Fans of LEGO set comes with a brick-built Atari joystick that moves and feels like the real deal, and three brick-built video game cartridges of iconic Atari games, namely, Asteroids, Adventure, and Centipede. The cartridge can be stored in a case and built into mini versions of the games. Now, that’s super cool!
When completed, the main console measures over 3 inches tall, 13 inches wide, and 8.5 inches deep (8 x 33 x 22 cm).
The LEGO Icons Atari 2600 (10306) is scheduled to be available starting on August 01, 2022, for US$239.99.
