Poké Ball is to Pokémon like lightsaber is to Star Wars. It is one of the most iconic objects to emerge from the Pokémon franchise. Meanwhile, in the real world, it not only lets you catch Pokémon like it was meant to be (yes, really!), it was a lunchbox, a Pokémon shrine-worthy collectible, a power bank, a charging case for TWS earbuds, and more.
Speaking of the TWS earbuds, Razer is no longer alone to rock a Poké Ball charging case. Samsung has just joined the Poké Ball party but unlike Razer which has a pair of striking Pikachu-themed wireless earbuds that are docked and charged inside a replica Poké Ball, Samsung’s iteration is actually a holder for the new Galaxy Buds2.
This means the Poké Ball is not the charging case. It is a case for the Galaxy Buds2 charging case. As odd as it may sound, it actually allows the Poké Ball to achieve the size and proportion as it was seen in the games and cartoon series. In addition, this affords you the option of keeping the ball as a collectible at home while still bringing the buds and charging case out.
If you do so, there is a bunch of Pokémon stickers to customize the original Galaxy Buds2 charging case. The downside is, the buds aren’t Pokémon-themed. It is also worthy to note that the Poké Ball case does not appear to have a flat bottom to prevent it from rolling around which makes it a more faithful replica of the games/cartoon series.
As of now, the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Poké Ball Case Bundle is available only to the Korean market where it is listed on the Samsung Korea website for 130,000 won, which is roughly US$105 based on today’s going rate. However, it appeared to be sold out. If you look at the review section, quite a handful of people have gotten their hands on one.
Anywho, we heard the case will be compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro and Galaxy Buds Live too. Though it is not clear if Samsung will be releasing it as an accessory for those TWS earbuds.
