The LEGO UCS Millennium Falcon propped up a hyperdrive trail by Jason V Joiner was one of the most viewed images on our Pinterest in 2019 and for obvious reasons. It was a sight to behold.
Unbeknownst to us, a year on in 2020, medical doctor and LEGO enthusiast Andreas Lenander did the same but on a midi-scale-ish scale.
Andreas aka drdoddo (@drdoddo) scratch-built a slightly larger than micro-scale LEGO Millennium Falcon. The challenge to was weight control so the hunk of junk can be propped solely by LEGO bricks.
In addition to achieving a hyperdrive trailer that supports it – complete with light-up effects, courtesy of a simple LED string – Andreas also built a micro-scale sci-fi city from which the Millennium Falcon blasts off.
Very, very impressive. TBH, I kind of wish it is an official set. It will make for a great ambient light display for any fan of LEGO Star Wars.
Dr. Lenander is also a regular contributor to LEGO Ideas too. He has a crazy number of LEGO MOC under its name posted on his Flickr and Instagram pages. That said, you may want to check out the micro-scale build of the Sandcrawler – complete with terrain diorama – too.
