The classic Fisher-Price Chatter Telephone is making a comeback. However, it is not back to entertain toddlers 12 to 36 months of age. It has returned as a Bluetooth device for grown-ups, to be paired with a smartphone so you can use it to make calls like the good’ol days.
Unlike the original made-for-baby toy, this update of the classic toy features grown-up functionality like a speakerphone and the ability to dial out (and take calls), and talk using the handset. Uh-huh, the rotary dial is back, people. Though I am not sure if the Fisher-Price Chatter Telephone with Bluetooth will tug the heartstrings of grown folks.
Modern features for adults aside, Fisher-Price Chatter Telephone with Bluetooth looks pretty much like the original toy that has entertained countless toddlers for decades, including the child-pleasing colors and numbers, and of course, the wobbly eyes.
The only thing it does not inherit from the original is the ability to tow it around. I guess it is Fisher-Price‘s way of preventing it from being tow away by your kids?
Fisher-Price Chatter Telephone with Bluetooth is not the first novelty (read: superfluous) gadget. Previously, there was another, the Banana Phone that is equally superfluous, I mean, novel, that does the same.
Not going to lie. It does put a smile on my face. And yes, it is a thing you can buy, btw. Fisher-Price Chatter Telephone with Bluetooth will be available exclusively from Best Buy, priced at 60 dollars a pop.
