Gravity Industries Demonstrates Jet Suit Military Drills

Developed by Gravity Industries, the latest iteration of the company’s Jet Suit is being used to perform military drills. Should Gravity Industries have named their company Anti-Gravity Industries instead? Let’s just say, hopefully, they’re better at developing jet suits than naming companies.

The tactical flying suit features two jet turbines attached to each arm and one on the back for over 1,000 horsepower and 144 kgs of thrust. It can reach altitudes up to 12,000 feet at an average speed of 50 to 55 MPH and a top speed of 85 MPH. Of course, on a full tank of jet fuel, kerosene, or diesel, it only gets about 5 minutes of flight time at 50 MPH, so you probably don’t want to find yourself at 12,000 feet when the tank reads empty.

I want one. And I could actually have the company build me one if I had the £380,000 (~$460,000) to commission a unit. I don’t, though, so I’ll probably be ordering my jet suit from ACME and crashing into the side of a canyon Wile E. Coyote-style instead.
