Because LEGO is forever looking for ways to dig deep into my pockets, their latest wallet-emptying Star Wars set comes in the form of a 5,374-piece Ultimate Collectors Series Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser. The ship measures 43″ from nose to thrusters and will cost a formidable $650. Damn, now I regret giving up on making Santa’s nice list so early in the year.
Available starting October 1st for LEGO Insider members and October 4th for the general public, the set (#75367) includes minifigures of Captain Rex and Admiral Yularen and a display plaque detailing the ship’s stats. The model itself doesn’t really have any parts that open or interior rooms to play with, so its main appeal is its substantial size as a standing model. Plus, all the fun of building it – there’s that too.
Does my Star Wars LEGO collection demand I add this set to it? Of course it does. It’s coming up with the $650 that’s the hard part. Especially trying to convince my wife to let me rent out our garage as a band practice space for a few months.
