Well, what do you know? Not only was there a Godzilla Energy drink, but it also had a follow-up last year, aptly called Godzilla Energy II. Then late last month, Cheerio announced another King of Monsters energy drink and it’s called, you guessed it, Godzilla Energy III.
The new Godzilla Energy III Drink by Cheerio Japan is released in response to the popularity of the energy drink, said Cheerio. Last year’s energy drink had two can designs: a Burning Godzilla and a Type 3 Kiryu (Mechagodzilla).
For the third installment, the drink can is rocking one of the most popular – if not the most popular – kaiju in Godzilla’s universe: King Ghidorah. The can’s image depicts a scene from the 1991 film Godzilla vs King Ghidorah in which the three-headed dragon uses one of its long necks to strangle Godzilla.
Interestingly, the drink also celebrates the 69th anniversary of Godzilla this year (2023) in which it bums up the arginine to 690 ml (as opposed to 630 mg) per serving. Meanwhile, caffeine remains at 210 mg. As before, the beverage contains both guarana and maca extract, but this time, the drink color is gold-ish in line with the King’s color.
The energy drink is also released in anticipation of a new Godzilla movie produced by Toho (not Hollywood) that will be released on November 03, 2023.
The Godzilla Energy III Drink by Cheerio Japan is presented in 500 ml cans and it is available now in Japan from retailers nationwide as well as Cheerio vending machines at select locations for 4,800 yen for 24 cans pack (about US$35). It can also be purchased from Cheerio online store, over the counter at Godzilla Store Tokyo, Godzilla Store Osaka, and official Godzilla shops.
