Whether you are just starting out in golf or already a veteran, the new Garmin Approach S70 Series smartwatch is here to help you build a better game. The smart timepiece is designed with golfers in mind, boasting a super-bright and easy-to-read AMOLED touchscreen display, even in the sunlight. It has a ceramic bezel paired with a silicone band.
The Garmin Approach S70 Series is preloaded with over 43,000 golf courses from around the world and features an improved virtual caddie tool that shows shot dispersion data and suggests a club based on a variety of factors, like historical swing data, elevation, wind speed, wind direction et cetera.
There is a PlaysLike Distance feature with an all-new, built-in barometer to give a more accurate reading of how each shot is playing. The watch can be paired with Approach CT10 club tracking sensors for more automatic game-tracking capabilities, including detecting putts and chips.
It can, of course, keep track of your scores too. It can track round scores hole-by-hole and upload to the Garmin Golf app for stat tracking and handicap calculation.
You can also plan the best approach shot and putt by seeing the green’s slope direction and severity on select courses when connected to an active Garmin Golf membership (starting at US$9.99/month).
Beyond the golf features, it is everything a smartwatch is. This means it can push notifications from your smartphone, make payments (Garmin Pay), play music without a phone, has a customizable watch face, tracks fitness, monitors heart rate, and whatnot.
The new Garmin Approach S70 Series also boasts extended battery life, providing up to 16 days in smartwatch mode and up to 20 house when using GPS, which is good enough for a day’s golf and then some.
The new Garmin Approach S70 Series is available in a 42 mm or 47 mm case size with an SRP starting at US$649.99.
