Polycade Now Features Brook’s Neo-Arcade Controller Board, Launches NFT Project

It has been a while since we last talked about Polycade multi-platform arcade gaming system. If you are a connoisseur of arcade cabinets, you may be thrilled to know that Taiwan-based peripheral maker, Brook Design’s Neo-Arcade Controller Board will be integrated into Polycade entire game machine product line. With this update to the control core, it promised to bring a new level of gaming.

“Developed by Brook, the controller board uses X-Input controls to solve the issues of mode switching and unpredictable player order, making it the perfect choice for anyone looking to take their gaming to the next level.”

As I have said, this is more of a connoisseur thing because casual gamers will probably not notice the enhancements.

In related news, Polycade has launched an NFT project dubbed Polycade Limiteds, featuring classic Atari games reimagined by contemporary artists. Polycade Limiteds is where art meets video games in a nutshell.

12 games are planned with one artist involved in a game. Some of the games you can expect include classic titles like Missile Command, Centipede, Breakout, and Gravitar – just to name a few.

Kicking off the Polycade Limiteds is the classic Asteroids video game reimagined by artist Shantell Martin.

In addition, players will be able to participate in a series of tournaments with over 200 prizes, including arcade machines worth over 2 grand.

The game is offered in Digital Cartridge form in an edition of 2,000, each going for around 60 bucks or 0.0425 ETH.

Also available is an edition of 5,000 physical collectible Arcade Tokens, each in its own numbered display case.

Once you have the digital cartridge, you can play Shantell’s Asteroids on Polycade.ltd (website), any Polycade arcade machine, and on the downloaded Polycade AGS client for Windows.

In the case of an arcade machine, you may “pin” your copy of the game to your arcade which will then allow the title to be on display and ready to play.

If desired, you may sell your copy of the game via marketplaces like OpenSea just like you would with a physical copy on platforms like eBay or Craiglist. More information on Digital Cartridges can be found HERE.
