Inspired by a giant functional keyboard that Razer had on display at the Consumer Electronics Show back in 2018, engineer and keyboard collector Glarses decided to build his own after the computer accessory maker refused to sell him theirs. And, to upstage Razer out of spite, he decided to make his own keyboard full size, which includes the number pad, unlike Razer’s TKL (tenkeyless, lacking number pad) version. He then spent the last year and almost $15,000 making his dream a reality. Oooh, petty revenge, I’m into it!
Using NovelKeys The Big Switches (the same used by Razer for their keyboard), Glarses constructed the entire keyboard in just 7 days (after almost a year of planning), overcoming many unforeseen challenges in order to have it ready in time for a grand unveiling at Black Tech Fest. I was on the edge of my seat the whole video!
Dream it, and you can achieve it, that’s the message here – especially if you’re motivated by petty revenge. Thankfully, very few things I do aren’t motivated by petty revenge, so this was great news to me.
