ASUS Vivobook Classic Series Laptops Powered By AMD Are Mil-spec Tested Too

If you have heard a lot of good things about AMD processors for laptops and wanted to give it a try, the new ASUS Vivobook Classic Series of everyday laptops powered by AMD processors may be worthy of consideration.

Altogether, there are three models in this new series and they are the 14-inch Vivobook 14 OLED (M1405), the 15.6-inch Vivobook 15 OLED (M1505), and the 16-inch Vivobook 16 (M1605).

The OLED models offer an eye-popping visual through OLED NanoEdge Pantone Validated 600-nit displays with up to a 2.8K (2,880 x 1,620 pixels) resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a blazing 0.2 ms response time.

The NanoEdge OLED displays offer up to a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and an impressive screen-to-body ratio of up to 86.5%.

If aspect ratio matters to you, you may want to take note that the Vivobook 14 OLED and Vivobook 16 have an aspect ratio of 16:10 while the Vivobook 15 OLED has a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio.

The AMD-powered ASUS Vivobook Classic Series offers up to AMD Ryzen 7 7000-Series processors, 16 GB of 3200 MHz DDR4 memory, 1 TB SSD, and features an IceBlade fan, dual-vent cooling, and WiFi 6E. The laptops are slim and light, have a metallic finish, and boast a 180° lay-flat hinge.

Other notables include the ASUS ErgoSense keyboard, ASUS Antimicrobial Guard Plus, physical webcam shield, ASUS 3D Noise Reduction (3DNR), and ASUS AI noise-canceling audio technology.

The laptops are tested “to the strictest MIL-STD-810H US military-grade standard.” I know. They do not look like they are tough but they are. But they may survive drops and such but do not expect them to get away without any cosmetic damages. Just saying…

It is unclear when the AMD-powered ASUS Vivobook Classic Series will be available or how much the laptops will cost.
