Not often that you hear that Microsoft works with a company on an Android device but here it is, the Lenovo ThinkPhone by Motorola, a smartphone Microsoft worked with Motorola that aims to bring the best productivity experiences to Motorola’s commercial customers.
So, yeah, the Lenovo ThinkPhone by Motorola is a business tool. It is supposed to offer an easy way to keep up with your work life from anywhere when you are without your laptop. In other words, it is a companion to your ThinkPad. How it does so is through, you guessed it, a suite of Microsoft apps, including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook.
With this device, employees will be able to securely access their personalized Windows apps, content, and settings – all with the peace of mind of knowing that it is backed by ThinkShield for mobile platform, and 4 years of security updates.
Furthermore, the two entities are working to explore more experiences, including push-to-talk capabilities through the ThinkPhone’s red key for instant communication on the Walkie-Talkie app through Microsoft Teams.
The experience is further enhanced by hardware that is engineered for extreme conditions, featuring Aramid, an aluminum frame, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, and an IP-68 rating. And being tough is another form of security.
Other notable spec sheet details include Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform, a 144 Hz 6.6” pOLED FHD+ display, an advanced 50 MP Ultra Pixel camera with OIS, a 13 MP ultrawide-angle camera, a Depth Sensor, a 32 MP selfie camera with AF, on-screen fingerprint reader, 8 GB LP5 RAM, 256 GB internal storage, 5G radios, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6E, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 68W TurboPower wired charging and supports 15W wireless charging.
The Lenovo ThinkPhone by Motorola is expected to arrive on the market this year (2023). Exact availability and pricing are to be advised. Meanwhile, you may learn more on Motorola.com. The device was officially announced at CES 2023 earlier this month.
