You heard it is coming, now watch the official teaser of Netflix’s Wednesday directed by Tim Burton, who is the executive producer along with Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar.
For the uninitiated, the show isn’t a sequel or reboot that focuses on gothic-heavy but no less a lovable character. It is more like a backstory of Wednesday:
“The series will be a coming-of-age supernatural mystery comedy focusing on Wednesday Addams and her years as a high school student at Nevermore Academy, where she attempts to master her psychic powers, stop a monstrous killing spree of the town citizens, and solve the supernatural mystery that affected her family 25 years ago—all while navigating her new relationships.”

The show stars Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Gwendoline Christie as Larissa Weems, and more. Oh, Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday Addams, in the 1991 feature film directed by Barry Sonnenfeld will be starring in the series, though her role remains a secret. It is not clear when exactly the series will start streaming on Netflix.
