Xiaomi’s Redmi unveiled the latest member to join the Note 11 family, the Redmi Note 11T Pro and Pro+, a few hours ago. Nothing out of the ordinary really but what caught our eyes is an Astro Boy-themed Redmi Note 11T Pro+ called Redmi x Astro Boy Note 11T Pro+.
The collaboration is just time to mark the 70 years of Astro Boy* this year. Why Astro Boy for Redmi? Well, apparently, Redmi Note is known to be a tough phone, just like the iconic robot boy.
The special edition Note 11T features a beautiful engraving of the 70-year-young boy hero in blueprint style with half of its innards exposed. A design that is not only futuristic but also very Astro Boy. In addition, the special edition will get an Astro Boy-themed UI:
Plus, there is a collector’s worthy Astro Boy-themed packaging, a matching Astro Boy-theme bumper-style case in striking silver, documentation that also features the robot boy hero, and some stickers.
Beyond that, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11T Pro+ is pretty much the regular Xiaomi Redmi Note 11T Pro+ with features like a 144 Hz 6.6-inch FHD+ LCD display with 270 Hz touch sampling rate, MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chip, LPDDR5 memory, UFS 3.1 storage, 120W super-fast charging, 4,400 mAh battery managed by PengPai P1 chip, a tri camera setup (64 MP main + 8 MP super-wide-angle + 2 MP macro), a 16 MP selfie camera, 5G radio, dual nano-SIM, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS (A-GPS, Galileo, BeiDou, GLONASS, QZSS), and NFC.
The non-plus model is pretty much the same, except it has a 67 W fast charging and a larger 5,080 mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11T Pro+ Astro Boy Edition will retail for 2,499 yuan when it becomes available on June 18, 2022. The regular Redmi Note 11T Pro and Redmi Note 11T Pro+ will go on sale on May 31, 2022, with a starting price of 1,799 yuan and 1,999 yuan, respectively.
It has a limited run of 10,000 units worldwide. The partnership between Redmi and Astro Boy goes beyond the phones; Redmi is in the process of turning one of the stores into an Astro Boy-themed store:
