First unveiled in January, the 2023 BMW 8 Series and the new BMW M8 models made their world premiere at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance 2022 (March 3 – 6, 2022).
Haters of supersized grilles found on the BMW M3 and M4 will be glad that the new 8 Series does not have that. But the grilles did get an upgrade by the way of an illuminated kidney grilled with wider slats.
There are new colors too, along with some interior upgrades, and the M sports package is now standard in all model variants of the BMW Series Coupé, the BMW 8 Series Convertible, and the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé.
In addition, the 8-cylinder models will also rock aerodynamically optimized exterior mirrors in the style of the BMW M8 as standard. On the inside, expect to find an extended range of standard equipment, including multifunction seats, an M leather steering wheel, and other M-specific design features. And oh, it now has a larger 12.3-inch Control Display.
Meanwhile, the M8 range, comprising of the BMW M8 Competition Coupé, the BMW M8 Competition Cabriolet, the BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupé, also offers new exterior paint finishes and M light-alloy wheels.
The aforementioned 12.3-inch Control Display with touch function is also standard on the new BMW M8 models.
Official words have it that the 2023 models will start production this month. However, it is not clear when they are open for order and for how much. In related news, BMW has also announced a special 8 X Jeff Koons Edition, featuring a paint scheme crafted by the American artist.
