Vietnam’s Very Own Batmobile “Tumbler” Ditches Gas Motor For Electric Drive

Remember the Vietnam dude/founder of cosplay company Macro Studios, Nguyen Dac Chung’s version of Batmobile “Tumbler”? Well, it has recently gone viral again by becoming the world’s first and only all-electric Batmobile.

When we first learned about Chung’s 3.5-meter long Tumbler in 2020, it was powered by a 400cc 4-cylinder engine but now, this real-life, fan-built superhero machine has taken the sustainable route.

It is now powered by an undisclosed electric motor paired with a lithium-ion battery system. No numbers were provided except that it has a slightly higher top speed of 65 mph (105 km/h) as opposed to the previous 62 mph (100 km/h). Everything else appears to remain the same.

Other features include a 2-seat configuration, 2 hydraulically-operated automatic doors which can be remotely open, and 4 cameras to create a nearly 360-degree vision inside the cockpit.

All told, Chung’s all-electric Tumbler weighs less than 600 kilograms (1,323 lbs). That’s like the weight of Japanese Kei cars.

While this version of Tumbler is not 100% screen accurate, it is still quite a sight to behold especially when it is tearing around the racetrack. Yes. It is totally functional. And thanks to the electric drivetrain, it even sounded the Tumbler seen in Christopher Nolan’s trilogy.

Anywho, believe it or not, Nguyen Dac Chung’s all-electric Batmobile Tumbler is actually for sale. But for how much, it is for you to find out by submitting a form with your intention to buy.

The world’s first and only electric Batmobile is currently on display at Van Daryl, an automative gallery in Phu My Hung in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Van Daryl, which is also handling the sale of the electric Batmobile, is founded by custom bike builder Daryl Villanueva who is the name behind Bandit9 rides like the Bishop Concept Motorcycle, EVE concept, and L.Concept.
