After introducing to us striking concepts like the EVE, L.Concept, Daryl Villanueva’s Bandit9 has officially unveiled its latest offering and second Bandit9 money can buy: The Supermarine.
The Supermarine is a major departure from Bandit9’s previous styles. Unlike the concepts and the Jaeger (which is also on sale), The Supermarine is decidedly futuristic.
At a glance, The Supermarine looks like the land-going Predator drone with its bulging front end. But it is far from inspired by high-flying objects or creatures. The curves of the body are inspired by leaping Mobula Rays. Meanwhile, coral reefs served as the inspiration of the frame.
The flowing line is not just aesthetically striking but it has been wind tunnel tested for aerodynamic:
It has an aerospace-grade chassis, or more correctly put, it has a chassis made from missile-grade aluminum (or 7075 aluminum, if you really must know). This results in a super lightweight bike that tips the scales at just 216 kilograms (476 lbs).
Tuck away under its super sleek, “air slick” futuristic fairing is a Euro5 compliant 900cc liquid-cooled SOHC motor that produces a healthy 74.1 bhp and 59 ft-lb of torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox as standard.
The Supermarine, in its based form, aka Stealth Class with Race-spec ABS, has a top speed of 193 km/h (120 mph).
For those hungry for more power and an even lighter ride, there’s the Carbon Class featuring a space-grade carbon fiber body. The Carbon Class has an upgraded 1200cc motor that produces 103 bhp and 83 ft-lb of torque and has a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph).
It also enjoys Ohlins suspension components, Beringer Aerotecs 6-piston brakes, 6-speed gearbox, titanium exhaust, and more – in addition to weighing lighter at 190 kilograms (419 lbs).
The Bandit9 The Supermarine Custom Motorcycle is available from Daryl Villanueva’s Van Daryl Automotive Museum and like the previously featured electric Batmobile, The Supermarine is also on display at the museum. As for the price, it is for you to enquire HERE.
