Originally put on hold at the first 2020 review and subsequently greenlit in February 2021, the Sonic Mania: Green Hill Zone by toastergrl aka Viv Grannell is now an official LEGO set.
The LEGO 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog Green Hill Zone, as it is called, is a replica of one of the most iconic video game levels. It is a huge set, coming in at 1,125 pieces and when completed, it measures. 36 cm (15 inches) across, 6 cm (3 inches) deep, and 17 cm (7 inches) tall.
The set is not just a display piece after completion; it is playable too. Included are 10 boxes of golden-colored Rings and a Technic level to spring Sonic and friends into the air, and just like the game, you can earn a gem reward as you build the set.
The set further boasts a generous number of minifigures, or five to be exact and they include the hero himself Sonic, along with Crabmeat, Moto Bug, Dr. Eggman, and the Phantom Ruby.
The LEGO 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog Green Hill Zone will be available starting on January 01, 2022, from LEGO Stores as well as from LEGO.com for US$69.99.
