For people who move around often, it may make sense to own a projector instead of a TV. That said, if you are one of these roving people or just happen to be in the market for a projector, Shenzhen-based startup JIRENO has one to offer, and it’s called CUBE4.
JIRENO CUBE4 is touted as a Full HD projector that’s capable of putting a 200-inch image onto a wall or projection screen and runs off an Android TV-based OS which opens to a world of entertainment, including Disney+, Hulu, Netflix, Prime Video, and more.
JIRENO CUBE4, according to the company, stands out as a “sealed portable projector” that not only offers a silent operation but also prevents dust and dirt from reaching the all-important optical unit. So yes, it should not have annoying spots like some projector will have after some use.
It also stakes claimed as “the world’s brightest 100% sealed portable projector” afforded by its 500 ANSI lumens light source. It is true that it is not the brightest portable projector, but it is possibly the brightness sealed portable projector. Clever marketing wordplay there.
The device is powered by an Amlogic T972 processor with 2 GB RAM and there is a 16 GB storage for apps and whatnot. It has a variety of input options too, including an HDMI 2.0 port, a USB-A port, a USB-C port, as well as wireless options by the way of Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band WiFi.
There is a 3.5 mm audio jack to pipe the audio to headphones or powered speaker for those who prefer not to go with the built-in 2x 5W speakers powered by Vidu audio technology.
Other notables include a 30,000-hour LED light source, support for 4K content decoding, HDR10+, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, and autofocus and automatic keystone correction.
It comes supplied with a remote with voice control and the device has a classy soft strap for toting it around. Pretty neat.
If you are sold by the idea, you may join the 120+ backers who have contributed nearly US$30,000 on Kickstarter. The campaign is funded and so, this means it is a go. If everything goes as planned, backers should expect the product sometime in February 2022.
