At the rate that Takara Tomy is launching new Transformers Masterpiece/Masterpiece Movie collectibles, the Transformers Masterpiece Movie MPM-14 Bonecrusher very quickly became old news even though it was revealed in July. Bonecrusher was a formidable and cool character from Bayverse which appeared in the first Transformers live-action movie by Michael Bay. But here’s the thing. He may be cool but he is a character that reminds us how Bay has messed up many loyal fans’ childhood memories.
Every Transformers fan knows that Bonecrusher is a Constructicon and one of the six members that form the combiner Devastator. But in the movie, he was an independent character who takes on the form of a Buffalo MPCV mine clearing truck. Bay has created a seemingly unrelated Transformers universe which has since then garnered its own following. With that said, if you are a fan, the Transformers Masterpiece Movie MPM-14 Bonecrusher will be an epic addition to your Transformers movie toys collection.
This figure is inspired by the Transformers live-action movies – specifically the first movie – and reproduced using the CAD files from the movie. It boasts film-inspired details, die-cast parts, over 180 deco ops, and an incredible level of articulations for a transforming toy, coming in at more than 50 points of articulation. You’ll be able to recreate scenes from the first live-action Transformers movie by articulating the arms, legs, waist, head, mine fork, and more.
The Bonecrusher figure includes an alternate face, alternate claws, and 6 blast effects, adding to its versatility as a display piece. Befitting its complex screen-accurate appearance, transforming it from a movie-accurate robot to a mine-protected vehicle will take a whopping 84 steps. Speaking of mine-protected vehicles, the alt mode is manufactured under license with General Dynamics Land Systems – Force Protection, Inc.
The Transformers Masterpiece Movie MPM-14 Bonecrusher is scheduled to be released in March 2024 in Japan, priced at 26,400 yen. Previously, Hasbropulse.com did take pre-orders for the item but it has seen sold out. According to Hasbro, the release date in the U.S. is December 2023.
Even though it is out on Hasbro Pulse, you should be able to find pre-orders from toy retailers like Amiami.com, Amazon, Big Bad Toy Stores, and similar stores. Recommended for ages 8 and up.
