Sony Alpha 7C, the compact full-frame interchangeable lens camera that so many photography enthusiasts swear by has not one but two follow-up models. Joining the Alpha 7CR series are the Alpha 7CR with a 61 MP high-resolution sensor and the Alpha 7C II featuring the latest still image and video performance.
The Sony Alpha 7C II is outfitted with a 33 MP full-frame Exmor R back-illuminated CMOS sensor paired with the latest BIONZ XR image processing engine to achieve high imaging performance perfect for both travel and street photography, as well as daily snapshots.
It offers a wide standard ISO range from 100 to 51200(expanded ISO 50 to 204800 for stills) for both stills and movies for high-sensitivity, noise-free shooting. All these are packed in a compact and lightweight design that measures around 12 cm wide, 7 cm high, and 6 cm deep and weighs about 513g.
Meanwhile, the Sony Alpha 7CR boasts a full-frame back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor with approximately 61.0 effective megapixels and the latest BIONZ XR image processing engine. It shares pretty much the same feature set as the 7C II, except that it has a whopping 61 MP sensor. It offers a standard ISO range of 100 to 32000 for both stills and movies (expanded ISO 50 to 102400 for stills).
Other common features include optical 5-axis in-body image stabilization, AI-processing unit, real-time Recognition AF that recognizes a wide variety of subjects with high accuracy, records high-quality 4:2:2 10-bit video recording up to 4K60p, and support Sony S-Cinetone color science – just to name a few.
The Sony Alpha 7CR and Alpha 7C II cameras will be available in Fall 2023 for camera-only prices of US$2,199.99 and US$2,999.99, respectively.
