At this point. Apple has conditioned us to be excited over little changes. OK, maybe not. Anyhoo, here we have the new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. At a glance, it looks like the iPhone 14 but upon closer inspection, it has a new contour edge that should improve the feel of the device.
The new iPhone 15 lineup now also touts a color-infused back glass and over the front, the notch is gone, and in its place is the Dynamic Island first introduced on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. And then, there is the much-talked-about USB-C, replacing the Lightning port/connector.
Performance and imaging received an upgrade by the way of the A16 Bionic chip featuring a 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine, and the new 48 MP main camera which enables super-high resolution photos and a new 2x Telephoto option to give users a total a three optical zoom levels.
Still on imaging, the iPhone 15 lineup also boasts the next generation of portraits that makes taking portraits easier, and with great detail and low-light performance.
Other notables include Crash Detection, Emergency SOS via satellite, precision Finding for Find My friends, 6.1- or 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display with an outdoor peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits, and charging AirPods or Apple Watch directly from iPhone with the USB-C connector.
The new iPhone 15 lineup comes in five new colors: pink, yellow, green, blue, and black. Apple will begin taking pre-orders on September 15, Friday, with availability starting the next Friday, September 22. The new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be available in 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB storage capacities, with a starting price of US$799 and US$899, respectively.
