The Ferrari Tailor Made 812 Competizione is a one-off creation based on the 812 Competizione which we did not feature (our bad) here so, we thought we’d offer some background on this beautiful automobile before we get into talking about the Ferrari Tailor Made 812 Competizione.
The 812 Competizione is a unique ride as it is powered by the last of the non-hybrid V12 engine, a 6.5L V12 that produces 818 hp at 9,500 RPM. Only 999 of the 812 Competizione will be built, each costing over US$600K. The Ferrari Tailor Made 812 Competizione is one of those limited numbers.
Everything under the hood remains; this Tailor Made car was inspired by the blank-sheet design process which basically lends both the exterior and interior as a blank canvas for artistic creation. The result is what you see here: a matte yellow (Giallo Tristrato) 812 Competizione with sketch-like details that extend to the interior.
On the inside, however, the concept sketch aesthetic is embroidered into the seats as well as the lower dashboard which are both in yellow, of course, and contrast against an Alcantara cabin. The car looked like it had jumped straight out of the sketchbook of the car designer which is very surreal.
The Ferrari Tailor Made 812 Competizione should be priceless but it is not quite; it will auctioned for charity on October 17 at the Ferrari Gala in NYC and so technically, it will not be priceless.
