In addition to the haptic speaker head cushion, Project Carol, Razer also firmed up the release date of the Razer Edge and Razer Edge 5G handhelds and also revealed a bunch of products, including a new desktop soundbar, a couple of Blade laptops, a new webcam, and an accessory for Meta Quest 2 VR headset.
First, the Razer Edge. We already know there are two versions of the Razer Edge. There is the Wi-Fi-only model and also the 5G model. The Wi-Fi model will be available from Razer.com and RazerStore locations across the U.S. starting on January 26, for US$399.99. Meanwhile, the Razer Edge 5G is Verizon-exclusive, available from Verizon.com and Verizon store locations also from January 26.
Details of the pricing for the 5G are available through Verizon HERE. Keep going for a rundown of the product revealed.
Razer Leviathan V2 Pro Soundbar
The Leviathan V2 desktop soundbar now has a Pro model. The Razer Leviathan V2 Pro is the world’s first beamforming soundbar with, wait for it, head-tracking AI. Working with THX and 3D audio beamforming specialist, Audioscenic, the new Razer Leviathan V2 Pro features an integrated IR camera that senses your position to deliver an immersive sound soundstage and ensure that you always stay in the sweet spot of the optimal listening experience without the need for headphones. The soundbar boasts THX Spatial Audio as well as Audioscenic user adaptive beamforming:
“3D audio can be experienced in two modes: THX® Spatial Audio Virtual Headset is for any stereo content, providing you with pinpoint positional audio previously only found in headsets, while THX® Spatial Audio Virtual Speakers is for any multi-channel content that provides a wide, room-filling soundstage that users would normally experience with a full home theatre system.”
All told, the Razer Leviathan V2 Pro promised to deliver crisp, clear treble – thanks to the included subwoofer – deep, punchy bass, bolstered by the eye candy offered by Razer Chroma RGB.
The Razer Leviathan V2 Pro is available to order now for US$399.99.
Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra Webcam
If you livestream a lot, then you would want to check out the Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra Webcam. Boasting the biggest sensor ever used in a webcam – a Sony 1/1.2” STARVIS 2 sensor – the new Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra Webcam claims to deliver a DSLR level of detail and clarity with plug-and-play simplicity. The Sony sensor is paired with a custom, ultra-large f/1.7 aperture lens that can capture 4x more light compared to other webcams. This means crisp and clear images in low-light conditions are a reality.
“This exceptional image fidelity is maintained thanks to a cutting-edge processor that can convert raw 4K 30 FPS (or 1080P 60 FPS) footage into uncompressed 4K 24 FPS, 1440p 30 FPS, or 1080p 60 FPS directly into your stream.”
Moreover, the user will also be at the center stage, thanks to the Kiyo Pro Ultra’s AI-powered Face Tracking Auto-focus technology. The camera ensures the user’s face is sharp and focused while creating a bokeh effect to eliminate distraction from the background.
“Coupled with High Dynamic Range (HDR) support at 30FPS, creators can achieve true-to-life colors thanks to the Kiyo Pro Ultra’s ability to automatically refine lighting and contrast while correcting over or under exposed areas, in order to add more visual detail and textures that make colors pop, even for darker or lighter tones. Creators can take this further with Razer Synapse which allows them to finetune or tweak their content quality with a comprehensive selection of customizable settings including ISO, shutter speed, pan, tilt, and more.”
And yes, we are still talking about a webcam. Folks, such is how far we have come in webcam technology. This development is no doubt fueled by the emergence of content creators and live streaming.
The Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra Webcam is available to order now for a grand-for-webcam price of US$299.99.
