The most annoying part of the TV is not because it is an unsightly black slab in the living room; it is all the cables that are snaking out of the TV. But with LG SIGNATURE OLED Wireless TV that will be a thing of the past because it is, well, wireless.
However, it is not completely wireless; it still has the power cable and it is most certainly isn’t the first wireless TV. Displace TV is a truly wireless TV. However, LG SIGNATURE OLED Wireless TV is the world’s first OLED TV with 4K 120 Hz wireless connectivity.
There are three models of wireless TV: a 97-inch LG SIGNATURE OLED M (model 97M3), and 83- and 77-inch LG OLED evo M (models 83M3 and 88M3). Save for the power cable, LG wireless TV is completely void of I/Os. It uses a Zero Connect Box to wirelessly transmits high-quality video and audio to the screen at 4K 120 Hz, thus the TV area to be free from distractions of cables and other gadgets.
The Zero Connect Box supports a range of connectivity options including HDMI 2.1, USB, RF, LAN, and Bluetooth, allowing you to connect to various devices and peripherals, and place them as far as 30 feet (about 10 meters) away from the screen.
So, yeah, it is really just sending the problem to another corner of your living. But hey, at least the spaces around the TV can be clutter-free, right? There is another boon too. Because it has no cables (except for the power cable), it allows LG to adopt a design that allows a seamless, flush-to-wall mount.
The wireless transmission is proprietary, btw. It is able to transmit large amounts of data at up to 30 Gbps, which is 3x the speed of Wi-Fi 6E standard, while also supporting Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
The 97M3, 83M3, and 77M3 are expected to be available later this month at LG.com and select LG-authorized dealers for $29,999 (97-inch), $7,999 (83-inch), and $4,999 (77-inch), respectively.
