The super cool, rugged off-road all-wheel-drive EV, Munro MK-1, now has a pickup variant simply called MK_1 Pickup. Like the Munro MK_1, the Munro MK_1 Pickup is designed with mining, construction, utilities, agriculture, and defence, in mind. So, it’s not quite for you and me but I don’t see the issue if you have the money to drop. More on that in a bit.
The Munro MK_1 Pickup promises versatility and best-in-class cabin space of a go-anywhere EV truck combined with the practicality of a quick access pickup bed that has a 1,050 kg (2,315 lbs) Euro Pallet payload. The yellow example you see here is in the “Performance” variant which has a 3,500 kg (7,716 lbs) max braked towing capacity.
The Munro MK_1 Pickup is powered by a state-of-the-art electric powertrain that produces 375 hp (280 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) and is paired with a 4×4 mechanical drivetrain and an 82.4 kWh battery, affording it to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in mere 4.9 seconds and over 190 miles (306 km), or up to 16 hours on a single battery charge. When charged with a 100 kW DC charger, the battery system charges from 15 to 80% in just 36 minutes.
The Munro MK_1 Pickup starts at £49,995 plus VAT (about US$62,223). It is available to order now with deliveries slated to begin later this year.
