Designed to look like the previous generation of $100 bills, this Burning Money area rug (affiliate link) features a burning Benjamin, complete with smoke rising from the flames. That’s… something. Something people will probably judge you for when they see it in your home. “Such exquisite taste!” I imagine them thinking to themselves.
The rug measures 47” x 71” and is perfect for letting guests know you’ve run out of ideas for how to spend money, so why not just burn it instead? I remember the first time I saw a friend jokingly try to light a cigar with a burning $1 bill. I slapped it out of his hand and bought myself an ice cream.
But does the rug tie the room together? And if this were in my home and I’d just woken up from a nap, would I panic and try to stomp the fire out? There’s no question. That’s why I’m not buying one. That’s the ONLY reason, though, just to be clear.
