After almost 7 years, DJI aerial cinematography drone DJI Inspire finally gets a new model, the new DJI Inspire 3, a full-frame 8K aerial cinema drone. Armed with an X9-8K Air full-frame camera featuring a 1/1.8-inch sensor, 161° ultra-wide FoV, and bolstered by CineCore 3.0 system and a dual native ISO, the DJI Inspired 3 is capable of recording 8K video in both CinemaDNG and Apple ProRes RAW in exquisite detail and with minimal noise – even in low-light environments.
The DJI Inspire 3 also integrates high-precision RTK positioning to deliver centimeter-level accuracy when used with D-RTK 2 Ground Station or network RTK, while an omnidirectional sensing system comprising 6 fisheye cameras, and 2 wide-angle cameras allow it to maneuver through tight spaces safely and with precision. The pro-grade aerial imaging further offers customizable obstacle avoidance.
Meanwhile, a robust O3 Pro transmission system supports 1080p/60 fps live feeds and an ultra-low latency of 90 ms within a 15 km (9.3 miles) max range. The drone sport a sleek design that reduces air resistance and increases speed and maneuverability.
Speaking of which, the drone itself has a max horizontal speed of 94 km/h (58.4 mph), 8 m/s (26.2 feet/second) max ascent/decent speed, and 10 m/s (32.8 feet/second) max dive speed.
It is juiced by dual TB51 intelligent batteries that are good for a 28-minute max flight time and supports for hot-swapping and fast charging which charges two batteries to 90% in 35 minutes.
The new DJI Inspire 3 is available for pre-order now for US$16,499.
