1989 Batman Utility Belt and Batarang Replica Set: Where Does He Get Those Wonderful Toys?

Designed to look just like the one worn by Michael Keaton in Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman, this Utility Belt Prop Replica features all the gadgets seen on film, including a Batarang, grapnel launcher, and communicator. Available from The NECA Store, the belt’s four cartridge slots can be customized with any of the eight unique cartridges included: a torch, taser, scanner, micro camera, re-breather, gas pellets, and smoke bombs. I’m not sure who needs to hear this, but those are all nonfunctional. A shame, I know.

The belt has two removable face plates that reveal more tools printed underneath and has an adjustable rear to fit waists from 31.5 to 50 inches. The included Batarang measures 7″ long with articulated hinges and magnets so it can open and close. Plus, everything comes with display stands so you can proudly show off all your bat gadgets when you’re not running around the neighborhood pretending to dish out vigilante justice.

Does it look a lot more plastic-y than the one seen in the movie? Yes. I guess you get what you pay for, and this doesn’t exactly cost Bruce Wayne amounts of money. Still, it should pair nicely with a Batman onesie and cape fashioned from an old bedsheet.
