Remember BMW Motorrad’s first e-scooter, the BMW CE 04? BMW Motorrad Austria has partnered with Austria motorcycle customizer Vagabund Moto GmbH to give it a makeover. The result is the BMW CE 04 Vagabund Moto Concept.
Nothing has changed under the hood, though. The BMW CE 04 Vagabund Moto Concept is very much the CE 04 you know. This means a 31 kW electric motor capable of 0-50 km/h (0-31 mph) acceleration in just 2.6 seconds and paired with a battery that offers up to 130 km (80 miles) range. The battery could be topped from 0-80% in 65 minutes when used with the optional fast charger.
So what has changed? Well, it is minor but somehow, it still speaks volumes. How? Well, the BMW CE 04 Vagabund Moto Concept is now a surfer-friendly ride – thanks to the surfboard with a transport system integrated into the vehicle.
Yup. That’s right. It not only can transport a surfboard to your favorite beach but it comes with a surfboard that has been color matched to the fresh color scheme of white, dark green, beige, and black.
The surfboard is not a piece of sports equipment; it is also a metaphor for a sustainable, urban lifestyle. Very cool. I definitely dig the idea of an e-scooter with a surfboard carrier. It is a refreshing change from automobiles with a roof rack for surfboard and surfboard transporter-integrated motorcycles.
In addition to the futuristic and fun paint job, it also features various functional elements, including a smiley face on the front wheel hub, as well as on the glass of the indicator lights. Yup. Smiley face. Did we say it is a fun ride?
Rounding up the customization is a functional top case to supplement the standard storage space.
We don’t believe the BMW CE 04 Vagabund Moto Concept is for sale. It is created to showcase the outward youthfulness of the vehicle and its potential. It is by no means an encouragement for you to do the same. You may learn more about this cool BMW CE 04 custom e-scooter over at the Vagabund Moto website.
