Fans of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas will be thrilled that LEGO fan designer Simon Scott aka Tvrulesmylife’s The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of the two LEGO Ideas submissions selected to be an official LEGO Ideas set.
Interestingly, this is the second time Scott has reached 10,000 supporters with The Nightmare Before Christmas set. But this isn’t quite an exact re-submission of his creation. Scott updated the design and rebuilt the set to combine several areas of the Halloween town.
The haphazard house of Jack Skellington is retained but clearly, it now has a lot more details and is taller, and as a result more screen-accurate in my humble opinion. Other areas have been updated too and for this new submission, Scott has included the Town Hall too. Scott’s proposed set really looks like it popped out of the animated film.
Also selected is a LEGO representation of perhaps one of the world’s most recognizable objects, the red London telephone box which still can be found in parts of the U.K. The LEGO Ideas submission, aptly called Red London Telephone Box, was created by John Cramp aka Bricked1980 from the U.K.
It is based on an early version of the phone box called the “K2” designed in 1924 by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott for the city of London
The Nightmare Before Christmas and Red London Telephone Box was selected from among 51 entries that have reached 10,000 supporters.
As before, LEGO designs are working on the final product design which may defer from the proposed set. Pricing and availability of the sets will be announced closer to launch. Meanwhile, you can see the full results reveal HERE.
