Man Builds Giant LEGO Star Destroyer Out of Pieces He Already Had

Because dream it, and with enough bins of random LEGO pieces, you can achieve it, this is a replica LEGO Star Destroyer that Redditor Ben581 built using only pieces he already had on hand. Because why spend $560 on LEGO’s official set (now more like $800+ in the secondary market since it’s been retired) if you don’t have to? As you can see, the colors are a nearly identical match to the actual model, and it’s hard to even tell the difference.

Did Ben follow the build directions from the actual model? I would assume so and just substituted similar pieces for what was called for. This guy must have a lot of extra LEGO pieces lying around! And hopefully, not all on the living room floor like a minefield, that would make a midnight snack run a risky proposition.

Fingers crossed, Ben tackles LEGO’s giant Death Star model next. I’ve always wanted to see a 1970s technicolor disco version of the iconic space station. I’ll even award bonus points if he included Han Solo and Leia minifigs dancing to ‘Stayin’ Alive’ in the Death Star’s canteen.
