Xiaomi has unveiled another version of the Redmi K50 smartphone, known as the Extreme Edition. Like the Redmi K50, the Extreme Edition also has Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 collaborative version known as the Champion Edition.
The Redmi K50 Champion Edition comes with a back cover design inspired by the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 W13 E Performance’s colorway of silver and carbon fiber pattern with subtle green and red accents. The Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 K50 Extreme Edition has a limited run of 20,000 units worldwide.
The Xiaomi Redmi K50 Extreme Edition is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform and outfitted with a 120 Hz 1.5K (2,712 x 1,220 pixels) OLED flexible display (non-curved).
Other highlights include a 108 MP OIS camera system (+ 8 MP super wide-angle + 2 MP macro), a 20 MP Sony IMX596 sensor front-facing camera, under-display fingerprint sensor, a 12-level cooling solution with over 30,000 mm2 of which 3,725 mm2 is esport-grade VC, dual channel GPS positioning, and 5,000 mAh battery with 120 W fast charging that supports QC3+, PD2.0, PD3.0.
The Xiaomi Redmi K50 Extreme Edition is offered in 8/12 GB LPDDR5 and 128/256/512 GB UFS 3.1 storage, with a starting of 2,999 RMB (about US$445) in China. The Champion Edition is available in 12 GB+512 GB configuration for 4,199 RMB (around US$623).
