The Origin Culinary Knives by Origin Handcrafted Goods

From Origin Handcrafted Goods, maker of The TILI and The Aleman pocket knives comes a surprise offering: culinary knives. I sure did not see that coming but here it is, The Origin Culinary Series.

Under The Origin Culinary Series are two kitchen knives: the Utility for light cutting jobs and the Santoku for heavy-duty slicing and dicing. Now, I know you are probably drawn to the beauty of the knives but if you allow me, I would like to direct your attention to the materials that made them.

Both knives are crafted from eco-friendly materials, which makes them the most sustainable culinary knives money can buy. The blade on each knife is forged from high carbon steel of reclaimed antique sawmill blades while the handle is crafted from reclaimed whiskey barrel Oak and locally sourced Manitoba Maple.

The beauty of these knives is not skin deep either; it’s in the details too. Details like a blade that has a rounded, forged taper on the spine to result in a thin tip perfect for slicing, a rounded choil that eliminates any “hot spots” on your fingers during use, and a thin and hard edge hand-sharpened on water stones stays super sharp for longer.

The Utility is 27 cm (10.6”) long with a 13 cm (5.1”) blade length. Meanwhile, the Santoku is 31.5 cm (12.4”) with 18 cm (7.1”) of it taken by the blade.
