After revealing the Takara Tomy Transformers MPG-01 Shouki, the first component of the very fast combiner masterpiece, Takara Tomy is quick to reveal the second component, the MPG-02 Getsuei, a couple of months later. Today, the toymaker and the father of Transformers has taken to Twitter to reveal yet another component, the Takara Tomy Transformers Masterpiece MPG-03 Trainbot Yukikaze.
Like the Takara Tomy Transformers MPG-01 Trainbot Shouki, Yukikaze is also a Shinkansen but in the case of Yukikaze, it is based on the 200 Series Shinkansen introduced by Japanese National Railways (JNR) for the Tohoku Shinkansen and Joetsu Shinkansen.
Takara Tomy Transformers Masterpiece MPG-03 Trainbot Yukikaze can convert from the Tohoku/Joetsu Shinkansen 200 Series train into a posable robot. It can also convert into the left leg of the Raiden combiner.
The toy will come with a head sculpt for Raiden combine mode, a blaster, a train connector, and two pieces of railway tracks.
In addition to the usual instruction sheet and Masterpiece standard character card, it will come with a special booklet containing information on the MPG series, featuring an interview article with Mitsushito Ohno, the developer of the MPG series, along with stories on the development of both the new and old Raiden.
The Takara Tomy Transformers Masterpiece MPG-03 Trainbot Yukikaze will be released in February 2023 for 19,800 yen (about US$148).
