If you believe a gaming monitor – or just any computer monitor for that matter – should not be just a slab of display on a stand that feels so perfunctory, well, then you should take a look at the new Porsche Design AOC Agon Pro PD32M Gaming Monitor.
Once again, Porsche Design has teamed up with AGON by AOC for a high-end gaming monitor. While it does not have a stand inspired by a race car’s roll cage, this 80cm/31.5” premium gaming display is equally striking with details inspired by a Porsche sports car, like design cues from the steering wheel and wheel spokes of a sports car.
It is outfitted with a 144 Hz refresh rate 4K (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) IPS display featuring MiniLED backlight technology and boasts DisplayHDR 1400 support and 1 ms gray-to-gray (GtG) response time.
The rear, though hardly seen, is also a sight to behold. It features tapered sides to further emphasize the display’s thinness. This result in a trapezoidal shape with a gentle slant where you will find metal mesh inlays for cooling, the audio speakers, and customizable RGB lighting (aka ambient Light FX).
Other highlights include Adaptive-Sync, variable refresh rate (VRR), built-in 2x 8-watt speakers with DTS Sound certification, adjustable trapezoidal aluminum stand with LED logo projection, support for both landscape and portrait orientation, wireless quick switch, integrated headset holder, and a bunch of I/Os, including 2x HDMI, a DisplayPort, 1x USB Type-C, 4x USB 3.2 ports, and of course, headphones jack.
The monitor comes supplied with a wireless gaming keypad for quick access to the OSD settings and a USB stick containing the manuals and related software.
The Porsche Design AOC Agon Pro PD32M Gaming Monitor will be available starting on August 30, 2022, for US$1,799. Porsche Design is taking pre-orders as we speak – if anyone’s interested.
